About Coach Thad
Real-world coaching for insulin resistance, cravings, blood sugar chaos, fasting, food habits, and rebuilding your health without starving yourself into a rage cloud.
Work With MeMost people trying to lose weight or fix their health are handed the same tired advice: eat less, move more, have more willpower.
Meanwhile, they are hungry every two hours, fighting cravings, crashing after meals, gaining weight they cannot explain, and wondering why every plan eventually falls apart.
I am Thad. I am not a celebrity trainer, fake guru, or shiny influencer pretending life is easy from a rented kitchen with perfect lighting.
I am a regular guy from Oregon who spent decades fighting his own metabolism like it had become a separate hostile life form.
At one point I lost 95 pounds.
Then over the next five years, I gained it back.
Not because I was lazy. Not because I suddenly forgot how food worked. But because the underlying system was never truly repaired.
I have done that cycle dozens of times: lose weight, regain weight, start over, burn out, blame myself, repeat.
Over time my metabolism felt like it developed a mind of its own. Cravings got louder. Energy got worse. Sleep became unreliable. Inflammation increased. Hunger stopped feeling normal.
Eventually insulin resistance turned into full metabolic dysfunction that showed up everywhere.
For me, that included severe MCAS symptoms, histamine reactions, inflammation, brain fog, exhaustion, and periods where it felt like nearly every organ in my body threw a tantrum at least once over the last decade.
That experience forced me to stop looking for temporary weight loss tricks and start understanding metabolism at the systems level.
For years, I dealt with insulin resistance, energy crashes, inflammation, cravings, brain fog, sleep issues, and severe MCAS symptoms that made my body feel like it was throwing a chemical tantrum over everything.
I do not deal with MCAS anymore, but I remember exactly how brutal it was: the flushing, reactions, food sensitivity, histamine chaos, and the constant feeling that my system was overreacting to life itself. That experience changed how I look at food, stress, inflammation, recovery, and metabolic health.
So I started studying what was actually happening underneath the surface: insulin, blood sugar, fasting, stress, sleep, food quality, habit loops, cravings, inflammation, histamine response, and how modern food hijacks hunger signals like a greasy little goblin with a clipboard.
Eventually, I stopped treating symptoms and started rebuilding the system underneath them.
Learning how food order, meal timing, protein, fiber, and carb choices affect cravings, hunger, and energy.
Understanding why your body stores energy differently and how to build habits that support better metabolic function.
Using fasting as a tool, not a punishment. No starvation cult. No white-knuckle nonsense.
Simple meals, smarter choices, low-glycemic strategies, and practical food frameworks that work on actual human schedules.
Breaking the blood sugar rollercoaster and understanding the difference between true hunger, habit hunger, and dopamine gremlins.
Personal experience with severe MCAS taught me how much food, stress, sleep, and recovery can affect the body’s alarm system.
Walking, rowing, strength basics, and movement that supports metabolism instead of acting like food jail.
Most people do not need more shame. They need clarity.
You do not need starvation diets, fake fat burners, impossible meal plans, punishment workouts, or another person yelling at you to “want it more.”
You need a strategy your body can actually sustain.
That means working with your biology instead of trying to beat it into submission with celery, guilt, and treadmill despair.
It is about getting your engine running better.
Today, my relationship with food feels completely different.
Constant cravings are gone. Alcohol no longer calls to me. Inflammation is dramatically reduced. Sleep is better. Brain fog lifted. Energy came back. Libido returned. My body finally feels like it is working WITH me instead of fighting me every hour of the day.
The goal is not just weight loss. The goal is freedom from cravings, crashes, shame cycles, food obsession, and the endless “I’ll start again Monday” loop.
Coach Thad is built for real people with real lives, real stress, real schedules, and real bodies that need practical systems instead of fantasy-land fitness advice.
If you are tired of the chaos and ready to take your metabolic health seriously without joining a fitness cult, this is your starting line.
